3. Code of Conduct


CODE OF CONDUCT

Objectives

The aim of Larkiew FC is to provide a fun, challenging and progressive development path for all skill levels to reach their own potential. This will be achieved with co-operation of Managers, Coaches, Players and Parents in a safe and friendly environment subject to available resources and as practical as possible.

The guiding principle of the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Larkview FC is that “All Children’s sport should be conducted in an atmosphere of fair play”. ‘Fair play incorporates the concepts of fun, friendship, respect for others and always playing with the right spirit. Fair play is defined as a way of thinking, not just behaving”.

Everyone involved in Larkview i.e. children, parents/ guardians and Managers/Coaches should accept the role and responsibilities that they undertake in their commitment to maintaining an enjoyable and safe environment.

Adult-child relationships in sport should always be:

* Open, positive and encouraging

* Entered into by choice

* Defined by a mutually agreed set of goals and commitments

* Respectful of the creativity and autonomy of children

* Carried out in a context where children are protected and where their rights are promoted

* Free from physical, emotional or sexual abuse and neglect or any threat of such harm
respectful of the needs and developmental stage of the child

* Aimed at the promotion of enjoyment and individual progress

* Governed by a code of ethics and good practice in sport that is agreed and adhered to by
all

* Respectful, but not unquestioning of authority

* Mindful of the fact that children with disabilities may be more vulnerable
