6. Code of Conduct for Parents


Code of Conduct for Parents
  • Always show respect for all players, opponents, managers, coaches and officials.
  • Have realistic expectations for your player and don’t put them under undue pressure.
  • Focus on effort rather than results and emphasise skill development and practice over winning,
  • De-emphasise games and competition in the lower age groups.
  • Accept disappointment, praise good work and refrain from criticising.
  • Ensure that your player arrives on time for training and matches and that safe arrangements are in place for getting them to and from venues.
  • Be mindful of pick up times after training. Coaches are responsible for ensuring pitch is ready for the next training session and cannot do this if children are not picked up on time.
  • Leave coaching to the coaches.
  • Respect the managers / coaches decisions.
  • Encourage your child to learn the rules & play within them.
  • Discourage unfair play & arguing with officials.
  • Never use foul or inappropriate language.
  • Assist when asked.
  • Support the club’s fund-raising activities where possible.
  • If your player requires hospital treatment a parent must attend.
